"Alliances are what people make when they're too weak to kill their enemies. "

I was born to kill. Literally. My birthright is to destroy the world for the darkest forces that crawled out of the ooze that was used to create the universe. Born and raised as a human, I had no idea who or what I really was. Not until the night my mother was brutally murdered.

I blame my best friend Acheron because I know he could still bring my mother back. As a destroyer, I don’t have that power. He does. But mostly, I blame myself for what happened. I kept secrets from my mother I never should have, and most of all, I know I had no reason to leave her alone and unprotected. At the end of the day, it’s all my fault. Knowing that doesn’t stop the pain, nor does it help me fight the darkness inside me that is trying to take me over. Every day I live is one more step closer to a destiny I don’t want. A destiny I can’t avoid.

But it doesn’t...

WTF?

Thinking I need to take Bastian custody before you two scar him for life. You see where that leads, right? Poor kid. Sim, get him to Kalosis and keep him away from Stryker and definitely Phyra- that #$$#$ is crazy. I'm sure...

To clarify some of the comments from people... Eventually the Dark Hunter Series and CON will cross. As the Dark Hunter series progresses you begin to notice certain changes in things - especially in Nick's character. They also have mentioned that the time line is being messed with, but have not yet figured out who is doing it. One large example is when Tori is first seen she lost her parents at age 6, but later on in Acheron's book they died at age 10. It has not yet been completely explained, but if you want to understand some of the confusion with time better. Re-read Invision where Jaden is explaining it to Nick, Caleb, Xev, and Kody in Menyara's shop. Time is basically a living thing. Both series eventually mesh. We just aren't there yet.

And that "discrepancy" in the age is pointed out in a discussion between Ash and Arik. Sherri is very carefully crafting it so that the changes are on scene and hints are being dropped to the characters. That is the first time and the first hint to Acheron that something "strange" was going on. She actually put a huge flashing red sign back in Night Embrace and Night Play. Those aren't loose ends, they are clues.

What I've pretty much figured out is that Ambrose, from the CON, is the same Ambrose in the dark hunter series. That's why he's messing with the time line and trying to stop whatever happens in the DH series. That being said, Nick from CON isn't the same Nick from the DH series. Their lives have significantly different details. Therefore everyone from CON is new because it's a different time line. The only thing that bothers me is that while nicks life is different in each time. Everyone else is basically the same, not including his companions per say. Ash is the same, simi, Dev, Kyrian, all of them had the same lives in each time line. I don't know, it kind of bothers me.

The same details of Nick's life have all happened-- just maybe not in the same sequence. The only difference is that teen Nick knows about the Malachai and his mother's future. But maybe Nick in the DH knew that too. Sherri hasn't really shown DH Nick that much. And as we all know from reading Acheron and Styxx and her other books, we won't know everything until she ties the series together. She's a master at taking all those little overlooked details and tying them up in a jaw-dropping manner. I have no doubt that she will do it and we will learn things about DH Nick that we never knew before. Yet when we look back will slap our foreheads and go "Dang it, I should have seen that one coming."

He has the blood of Sephiroth, Verlyn, Braith on top of being a Malachai, how more powerful can one get?

abs, May 24, 2016

    A lot, according to Sherri.

With Ambrose being both Serphiroth and Malachi I see how he has a stronger chance of playing on the side of good, but why didn't Jared recognize him when he was tutoring him on how to fight?

NanDia, March 29, 2016

He hasn't trained him to fight. And there's no reason for him to recognize him. All he sees is an enemy.
