Setting: Modern New Orleans

In the war against vampires, mankind has only one hope: The Dark-Hunters. Ancient warriors who died of brutal betrayal, the Dark-Hunters have sworn themselves into the service of the goddess Artemis to protect us.

It’s a pact with pretty good perks. Immortality, power, psychic abilities, wealth and a cool wardrobe. But it comes with a few drawbacks: fatal sun poisoning and a new, irreparable dental problem. But aside from the fangs and nocturnal lifestyle, it’s not so bad.

In tis volume, the adventure continues with Talon and Sunshine as they face off against the Greek and Celtic gods bent on making a major comeback.

The Story Behind The Story

The Dark-Hunters was originally submitted to Dark Horse, Marvel and DC back in the late 1980's. Unfortunately, they weren't interested.

Because she's been a longtime manga and lifelong anime fan, Sherri actually contracted with St. Martins back in 2003 to do a manga series. Since they weren't a manga publisher, it took them awhile to find a packager. The Dabel brothers were hired after they contracted to do her Lords of Avalon. The next step was to find an artist for the series that Sherri would agree to. Sherri wanted an artist who knew and breathed the Japanese style and she was Otaku enough to tell the difference. They tried to contract a Japanese artist, but all the ones Sherri wanted were under contract and didn't have time. Claudia was finally found.
