To sleep--perchance to dream: aye, there's the rub, For in that sleep of death what dreams may come . . .
They are dream predators or demons that attack via dreams, who are hooked on raw human emotions. They infiltrate sleep so that they can tamper with and seduce dreamers in order to get the high they crave. They are essentially the drug-addicts of the demon world. Each victim they take, leaves them craving even more stimulus and a higher high from the next victim who can push them to the next level.
Skoti get their kicks in nightmares, feeding off the unadulterated, paralytic fear that they can induce in their dream host. The heart-pounding adrenaline is like race car driving or skydiving for them. Extreme dreaming, if you will.
The children of Phobetor (the god of fear) have no respect for the laws that are supposed to govern them, or the pacts made, and are constantly a thorn in the side of the gods.
Amorphic and powerful, they are seduced by the drug that is human emotion. They instigate dreams and use their powers to induce unconsciousness, and then alter the dreams so as to exact the strongest emotions from their dream-hosts . . .
Their abilities are such that they have been known to scare people to death in their sleep. And if they’re not stopped, they will unvariably suck the very life force from their victims.
