It was a shock at first. I never thought I’d see him again. But I’m very glad that he lived and that things got better for him. In spite of everything, I always loved him as a brother and was sickened by what my family did to him.

I wouldn’t say that we’re close, but it’s getting better. Small steps, you know? We talk from time to time.
