I am descended from the witch you tried to hang and couldn't.

Roughly thirty years before the infamous trials that put Salem on the map, the town of Andover was already astir with accusations of witches, and one family in particular found itself in the center of those allegations. That family would spend decades in the middle of a heated maelstrom. Founders of New England, and descendants of some of the most prominent members of the colony, including the Mathers themselves, and the Cromwells, they should have been above reproach and yet they turned on each other in a ruthless game of family treachery, bitterness and betrayal that is told through the eyes of the woman who not only witnessed the nightmare, but had to attempt to put her family back together again when it finally ended.
