Interview with Kyrian

Q: Since you stopped being a Dark-Hunter, how do you spend your days?

A: Now that I can go out in daylight again, I spend a lot of time out there. So much so that the kids beg me to go inside. So what if it’s 123 degrees in the shade? The sun’s shining. It’s a great day. They just don’t get it. Ah, but what can you do?

Luckily, Amanda likes outdoor sports, too.

Q: How ´s the relationship between Marissa and NJ?

A: About the same as I had with my sisters. Very typical siblings. They’re either at each other’s throats or they’re united against us. Mostly the latter. Marissa thinks that she’s NJ’s mom and it makes us crazy.

They’re the best kids ever- not that I’m partial or anything.

Q: Have you spoken to Nick ever since he became a Dark-Hunter?

A: I have. I don’t get to see him as much as I’d like, but he frequently calls to check in and make sure we don’t need anything. I think I might have trained him a little too well. I keep telling him that he’s no longer a Squire, however, he keeps tabs on us like he is. I guess some habits die hard.

He’s still a good man and I’m proud to call him friend.

Q: How ´s your relationship with Valerius nowadays?

A: I wouldn’t say we’re friends, but we’ve stopped trying to kill each other. We’re cordial. We just don’t have a lot in common. We are very different people. And anytime history’s brought up, it just gets ugly.

Q: Did you finally get over Tabitha trying to kill you?

A: I might if she would stop trying to kill me. Just the other day when she brought Valerian over to play, she almost hit me with her car on the way out of the drive. I swear that woman is a menace.

Q: How did you feel when you stabbed Valerius?

A: At the risk of never sleeping in my bed with my wife again… pretty darn good. I’m not going to lie. Would have been better had I cut his head off, but I will take what I can get.

Q: Do you think Acheron changed since he met Tory?

A: He’s much more laid back and uptight. Yes, he’s ever a walking contradiction. He takes a lot more in stride, but he worries constantly about his family. I thought I had it bad… But of course, he has a lot more people who want him dead.

That being said, he’s a lot happier now. You can see it in everything he does. He’s still terrifying to people who don’t know him, but to those of us who do, there’s a gleam in his eyes that wasn’t there before.

Q: Has your opinion of Zarek changed over this past few years?

A: Not really. He’s still psycho and I still feel sorry for him. But we’ve almost got him housebroken. A few more centuries and he might actually be able to go out in public and not embarrass whatever poor slob is with him.

Q: What would you say to your father, if he was in front of you right now?

A: I’m sorry. You were right. I was wrong, and I had no right to talk to you that way. You were a great father and I was the sorriest excuse for a son ever born. You deserved much better than me.

Q: Would you like to have any more children?

A: Funny you should mention that. Amanda is pregnant and due at Thanksgiving. So I think the correct answer is a definite yes.
