The Story Behind The Story

The idea for Daemon's Angel came while Sherri was working on a term paper about the Conquest of England. Her paper was on her belief that Edward the Confessor promised his crown to both Harold Godwinson and William of Normandy, playing them against each other to keep peace during his reign. While she was working on the paper, she had an image of a blond woman drifting through the bodies at Senlac. It would be another year before she'd realize who that woman was and why she was there.

She started work on Daemon immediately.

In the original manuscript, Sherri had Daemon descend into Hell to fight Belial and his crew of demons. The ending was completely different. The book was intended for the fantasy market and her agent at that time misunderstood and sent it to her then publisher Dorcester instead. They bought it as a follow-up to Paradise City.
